When I Grow Up
Today is nearly over, all that remains is to decide how much tomorrow I can cope with. To help me make this decision, I've picked out a first new album from this month's emusic downloads, Fever Ray, the self-titled debut from the artist of the same name. Quirky and brilliant and a lot warmer than it seems initially, it has rather tickled me and is going straight on the music box.
I've also picked up the second Android Lust album, Devour, Rise and Take Flight because it is quite fantastic and I may have *cough* not exactly bought it before. Shikhee is fucking awesome and has clicked with me more solidly than any other darkwave/industrial act so far other than NIN.
I've been thinking a lot about the balance between openness and anonymity/privacy online recently. And based on the principle that there is no such thing as real anonymity, I think I'm moving closer to a space that feels safer to be in. (you'll note that, unlike other times this mood has come over me, I've kept the website up).
It's late, time for sleep.
