We have been adopted …

... by one of our neighbour's cats. His name is Jim and we think he's decided that our house is actually a part of his house, and that we are therefore worthy of the occasional visit to make sure we're looking after it properly. We'd seen him in our garden before (along with his rather more shy housemate) and he'd even come up to the back door to look in sometimes, but never ventured in.
At least not until he met Blanketgirl
I swear, she is some kind of kitty whisperer. The first time they met she had him through the back door to recieve some serious fuss, followed by a lengthly investigation and noofing of all our furnature and random junk. From that point on he's been a semi-regular fixture, strolling by of an afternoon/evening to check the place out and say 'hey!', and occasionally wandering in when I leave for work to visit with Ezekiel. The picture above was snapped after we returned from our recent Lake District adventure, when he saw us hanging out the washing, followed us inside and spent the next 20 minutes following us around and purring like a lawnmower. Everyone needs a little fuzz therapy from time to time, and given that we're not allowed to install kittykats of our own, this is about the best thing that could have happened on that score.
One day he may even stay still long enough to be in an un-blurred photo
.
I've got an awful lot to blarg about from last week, but until I've done sorting through the photos etc, I'll leave you with a bit of linkspammage. First up is a piece on the Eigenharp, the most glee-inducing synth controller I've seen in years on electric love affair (newly added to the sidebar), A piece from Melissa at Shakesville Rape Culture 101 that makes for very worthwile reading and, last but not least, Mr Scruff Wiggling Herbie Hancock's Waggle as it were
. Love to all.

This is how we ended up with Sooty and Susie btw... even though they "belonged" to other people.
Good god, posting photos of my hand on the internet without my permission!?!
Jim is good people, but I guarantee he likes our neighbours better, they actually feed him.
