It’s full of stars
Mind. Blown.
I love the tremendous sense of scale within the universe. I love the feeling I get when realising what a tiny pinprick of a nothing my life is in the wider scheme of things and yet, it is still everything to me. Carl Sagan's pale blue dot, the pictures that came back from Pioneer and Cassini, thinking about the sheer size of the largest stars, these things fill me with glee.
My real 'wheeee!' feelings are reserved for extra-galactic megastructures. Superclusters and the galactic 'walls' that stretch to the limits of our vision, as far through space and time as we can see. I wish this video had included a little bit more about those but ehh .. this is enough for me.
The universe is beautiful and immense and you are a part of it. Love everything.
Reminds me of that bit in Serenity when they're outside the ship and looking off into vastness. Humbling.
