Not much to say today, so have this beautiful video from the Space Shuttle Systems Engineering and Integration Team of the STS-129 Ascent. They've set it to music and done all sorts of beautiful things with it that quite wowed me. (Hat-tip to Sarah). I think it may be the prettiest bit of space program showoffery I've ever seen. And that includes the NIN-soundtracked Mars Rover animation.

We're having a bit of a quiet weekend here in the gloom, the lack of light and the usual physical mehs don't really enourage madly excitign weekends anyway, but this one feels particularly 'fuck it, bring me tea and chocolate, I'm going back to bed til spring'. There have been a few highlights; Dancing yesterday morning was absolutely mad fun (passing the lead in threes really tickles me) as was seeing my parents yesterday. Also this morning we had a visit from the ever-lovely Jim, who moseyed on in to inspect our stairs and investigate our nooks and crannies, purring all the while.

We've also picked a new game to sit in front of the PS2 and work through; this itme it's Suikoden 5. I'm not entirely sure what I think so far, it's random battletastic - but not as bad as something like zenosaga. And the voice acting and names are traditionally JRPG awful but I am kinda intregued. It's also infinitely more fun with Ezekiel snarking it along as we go. We shall see how we're doing once we're a few hours in, eh?

And to end this bit of inconsequentiality ... I'm watching Stargate:Universe and rather enjoying it - it's a definite improvement on everything I've seen from the SG verse so far, has a dark and interesting feel to it. Robert Carlyle as Dr Rush is incredible too - I'm going to have to see him in more things deliberately because he's been an absolute show stealer in the few episodes I've seen so far. Well worth the watch .
