For everyone who ever waved at a train

This is a British Rail advert from 1988 when prince charles turned 40. It's a ridiculously epic portrait of a rail system which was (unfortunately) about to be fucked good and hard by privatisation and something about it really lifts my spirit. It speaks to every part of me that ever waved at a train or looked at a huge great bridge and went 'wow'. (It also features the most ridiculously amusing Recieved Pronounciation voiceover ever).

Sarah posted it originally, and her links also lead me to a rather amusing/pertinent Spitting Image parody from the time which you might well enjoy.

In other news, I have found some awesome trousers and lost a toenail (though it looks like it may grow back, fingers crossed), have an appointment next month to become bionic and would like to sing a hymn of praise to the fact that you can still buy medicines with Pseudoephedrine in, for they are delicious and yummy :) .
